He was predeceased by: his parents, Matilda Szakmany and Petru Szep; his sister Valentina; and his brothers-in-law, Christian (Dorina) and Constantin.
He is survived by: his daughter Petronela; his wife Dorina; his son-in-law Tibi; his granddaughter Maya; his sister-in-law Aurora; his niece Codruta; and his nephew Codrut (Ioan).
