With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Ann Dean of Jackson, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 10, 2025 at the age of 62. She was predeceased by: her parent Merckie Brooks McMahan; and her husband Keith Daniel Dean. She is survived by: her son Andrew Dean (Patricia) of Franklin; her siblings, James McMahan (Patricia) of Sylva, Janet Cochran (Doug) of Bryson City and Linda Buchanan (Lowell) of Sylva; her grandchildren, Jadie and Dylan; and her close friend Rhoda Berst.
