It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Georgia Matthews Howell Beickert (Jackson, North Carolina), who passed away on March 21, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, George Matthews of Washington and Eva Isabell Johnson Matthews; her former life partner Rufus Butler Howell, Jr.; her husband Marty Beickert; her sons, James William Howell, Sr. and Marvin Howell, Sr.; and her siblings, Rosa Matthews Marotto, Hettie Bell Rose and Rufus Matthews.
She is survived by : her children, Georgia Paullette Howell of Margarettsville, George Bennett Howell (Rema) of Margarettsville, Ricky Thomas Howell (Yvonne) of Seaboard, Joey Butler Howell of Margarettsville and Andy Ray Howell (Catherine) of Moyock; and her caregiver Virginia Howell of Margarettsville. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
