She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie James Duke and Minnie Futrell Duke; her husbands, Horace Lassiter and W. T. "Billy" Futrell; her siblings, Mattie Mae Smith, Beulah Smith, Audrey Bryant Hargrove, Hazel Hobbs, J. R. Duke, Wilson Duke and Raymond Duke; and her grandson Tyre Leseney.
She is survived by: her daughter Dawn Leseney (Roger) of Ahoskie; her grandchildren, Timothy Bellanca (Elisa) of Germany, Hope Bellanca of Ocala and William Bellanca of Orlando, Florida; her great grandchildren, Kristopher Altmannsberger, Faith Bellanca, Sophia Bellanca and Michael Bellanca; and her siblings-in-law, Roger Futrell of Rich Square, Bernie Futrell (Kay) of Rich Square and Peggy Futrell of Raleigh. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Askew Funeral Service - Jackson Chapel (313 E Jefferson St, Jackson, NC 27845). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Rehoboth Methodist Church (1123 Rehoboth Church Rd, Jackson, NC 27845).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rehoboth Methodist Church.
