He is survived by: his wife Jean Ray McMahan; his daughters, Pam Hyatt (Ann) of Concord, Cindy Ensley (Bailey) of Sylva, Lisa McMahan (Tim) of Sylva and Becky Hunter of Sylva; his grandchildren, Leann Wheatley (Michael) of Sylva, Jennifer Clarke (Kara) of Concord, Emily Stephens (Laramie) of Sylva, Ashley Coggins (Carmen) of Concord, Logan Ensley (Kayla) of Sylva, Jamie Hyatt (Sam) of China Grove and Dillon Hunter (Graydon) of Sylva; his great grandchildren, Gage, Gunner Wheatley of Sylva, Bowen, Beckett Clarke of Concord, Cameron, Chase Stephens of Sylva, Liam, Livi Coggins of Concord, Roan Hyatt of China Grove, Wade Ensley of Sylva, Sanders and Macy Hunter of Sylva; his sister Alice Henson (Reed) of Franklin; and his friends, Billy Hyatt and Kym Parker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Appalachian Funeral Services (165 Skyland Dr, Sylva, NC 28779). A celebration of life was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Field Below the Family Home.
