With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carrie Pauline Eggers of Jacksonville, North Carolina, who passed away on January 7, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Townsend and Mary Lillie Pope Townsend; her siblings, Dorothy Townsend, Jessie Dobson and James Townsend; and her grandson Jason Eggers.
She is survived by: her husband George H. Eggers; her daughter Anna Eggers Overcash; her granddaughter Nancy Jean Shissler (Jack Shissler); her son George A. Eggers (Lydia Eggers); her grandchildren, Christopher Jowers, Sr., Wendy Simon, Britney Smith and Ariel Eggers; her great grandchildren, Christopher Jowers, Jr., Gavin Jowers, Michael Simon and Areyona Jowers; and her siblings, Judy Pierce, Mary Ruth Blackwell, Shirley Harrelson and David Townsend.
