He is survived by: his wife Loretta Brinkley; his daughter Holly Sykes of Wilmington; his stepdaughters, Christina Warren of Richlands and Leslie Rogers of Richlands; his brother Perry Byrd of Jacksonville; and his parents, Doris Padgett of Jacksonville and Charles Byrd of Dublin, VA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
