He was predeceased by: his daughter Sherry Diesea; and his grandson Tyler Advani. He is survived by: his wife Norma Sherman Wolfenbarger; his children, Rhonda Dowson, Amanda Webber (Robert) and James "J. C." Belcher; and his grandchildren, Dacey, Demmy, Shelby and Robert. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
