He was predeceased by: his former wife Jennifer Horne Avery; his brothers, Douglas Lee Avery, Harvey "Red" Avery, Sammy Avery and Alvin Avery; and his stepgranddaughter Brouke Olvera.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Bell Avery; his brothers, Cecil Avery (Annie Faye) of Jacksonville and Roger Avery (Pam) of Jacksonville; his sisters-in-law, Alice Faye Avery of Jacksonville, Carol Avery of Jacksonville and Marilee Avery of Jacksonville; his former wife Laura Bland Brown; his stepchildren, Heather Whaley (Joey), Ross Rigdon and William Gray Holder (Jennifer); his stepgrandsons, Avery Padgett and Kerby Holder (Shannon); his great grandchild Miles David Holder; his brother Delwood Silence (Sandra) of Jacksonville; and his pets, Bell Star and Junior. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
