It is with sadness that the passing of Edward W. Wright (Jacksonville, North Carolina) is shared. Edward, born on January 14, 1939, passed away on August 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Wright and Mary Elizabeth Wright; his former wife Opal "Marie" Wright; his daughter Carolyn Mendez Wright; and his sisters, Mary Ellen Buis, Carol Ann Griffey and Diana Wright.
He is survived by: his daughter Ellen Mahler; his son-in-law Carl Mahler; his children, Stephen Walker of Richlands, Michael Walker of Jacksonville, Daphne Knight of Charlotte, Janice Vary of Jacksonville and Joanne E. Santiago; his sons-in-law, Raul Santiago (Cynthia Nix) and Joseph Nix of Jacksonville, NC.; his grandchildren, Brittany Cordero, Carl R. Mahler III (Nyla Mahler), Jessica Sanchez, Fitzgerald Mendez, Christian Mendez, Stephanie Walker, Stephen Walker (Emily Walker), Andrew Walker, Krystal Wells, Scott Alexander, Gabriel Santiago, Amber Santiago and Victoria Santiago; and his wife Virginia (Marie). He is also survived by twenty-three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following the burial, a meal will be provided for family and friends at Kellum Baptist Church at 3:30 p.m. Flowers are welcome, donations can also be made to Kellum Baptist Church or Onslow County Animal Shelter.
