She was predeceased by: her parents, Hill Edwards and Mattie Lanier Edwards; her husband Adrian Earl Gurganus; and her siblings, Thurman, Durwood, Elbert, Tony Edwards and Mavis Cannon.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Shepard (Terry) of Jacksonville, N. C. and Gary Gurganus of Holden Beach, N. C.; her grandson Brad Shepard (Melinda) of Wilmington, N. C.; her great grandchildren, Aidan and Cate Shepard of Wilmington; and her sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Markey Edwards. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM at the Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville Wednesday (303 Chaney Ave, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM and at 12:00 PM.
