Gene will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Gene by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Gene is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Gene’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Singleton of New York; his children, LaKeisha Chestnut of Erwin, NC, Michael Singleton of New York and Torey Singleton of New York; and his sisters, Olivia Pickett of Jacksonville, NC and Delphine King of Newton Grove, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Christ Church (130 White Oak Church Road, Newton Grove, NC 28366). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
