George left this world on October 19, 2025 at the age of 87, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Peter Rothermel and Zita Magargee Rothermel. He is survived by: his wife Joan Rothermel; his children, Ginger Rothermel of Norfolk, VA, Rose Marshburn (Jody) of Jacksonville and George Rothermel (Jennifer) of Charlotte; and his grandchildren, Taylor Rothermel, Haley Marshburn and Lauren Love.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel (303 Chaney Ave, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church (657 N Marine Blvd, Jacksonville, NC 28540).
