She is survived by: her husband David Carter; her children, Bryan Smith (Leslie) of Wilmington, NC and Rachel Phillips (Cale) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Avery, Edith, Dylan, Maddy, Colin and Gwen; her siblings, Cyndi Hamilton, Betsy Romero, Billy Smith, Aletha Pugh, Debbie Smith and Nancy Cleghorn; and her sister-in-law Denise Roberson. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
