With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Myrtle Angeline Lanier Edwards of Jacksonville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 10, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Donald F. Edwards, Sr.; her parents, David Leonard and Virginia Grace Lanier; and her brother Dorian Lanier. She is survived by: her sons, Donald F. Edwards, Jr. (Susan), Jerry David Edwards (Karen), John Michael Edwards (Barbara) and Charles Ronald Edwards (Karla); her grandchildren, Jill Edwards Ata (Joe), Stephanie Edwards Hobbs (Matt), Meghan Edwards Bowyer (John), Kyle Edwards Steadings (Andrew), Jonathan Hollis Edwards (Nicole) and Caroline Stuart Edwards; and her siblings, Polly Young, Bonnie Jones, Tammy Lanier and Scottie Lanier. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (4764 Gum Branch Rd, Jacksonville, NC 28540). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
