She was predeceased by: her parents, John David Hayes and Clethie Pearl Naylor; her husband Eldridge Deon Butler; her siblings, Shelby Hayes Underwood, Willow Belle Canaday and William "Billy" Hayes; and her son-in-law James Beasley.
She is survived by: her children, Wanda Sue Beasley of Havelock, Gary Butler (Diane) of Jacksonville, David Butler (Delores) of Morehead City and Charles Butler (Debra) of Morehead City; her grandchildren, Jim Beasley (Sherry) of Commerce Township, MI, Mary Beth Beasley of Havelock, Jason Butler (Rebecca) of Richlands, Susan Upson (Allen) of Gulf Breeze, FL, William Butler (Heather) of Knoxville, TN, Magan Butler (Carl Sadler) of Morehead City, Matthew Butler (Janlyn) of Newport, Morgan Long (Danny) of Newport and Elizabeth Butler of Greenville; her sisters, Clarice Stroup (Mac) of Asheville and Betty Strickland of Fayetteville; and her niece Debbie Underwood Bromley of Zebulon, NC.. She is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren.
