Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Ronald Edward Yates of Jamestown, North Carolina, born in Haysi, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 91, on April 4, 2024. He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Yates and Clara H. Yates; his former life partner Theda May Yates; and his siblings, Thomas Yates and Patsy Y. Robinette.

He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Ritter Yates; his children, Ronna Y. Hertel (Ken) of Kingsport, TN, Karen Lynn Yates Lewellyn (Earl) of Hillsborough, NC, Scott Brown (Tina) of High Point and Brad Brown (Janelle) of Charlotte; his siblings, Steve Yates (Charlene) of Kingsport, TN and Kay Y. Dale of Kingsport, TN; and his brother-in-law Bruce Robinette of Bristol, VA.. He is also survived by six granddaughters; three grandsons; three great granddaughters; two great grandsons.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Gate City Baptist Church (5250 Hilltop Rd, Jamestown, NC 27282).
