With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernice Houck Prestwood of Jefferson, North Carolina, who passed away on May 23, 2026 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Everette Wayne Houck and Eva Carrie Trivett Houck; and her siblings, Levon Swicegood, Rex Houck, Arliss Houck, Rev. H. D. Houck and Jerry Houck.
She is survived by: her daughter Shannon Olive (Chuck) of Crumpler; her siblings, Barbara Sheets (Frank) of Jefferson, Kathy Crepps of Laurel Springs, Michael Houck (Susan) of Fleetwood, David Houck (Susan) of Fleetwood and Don Houck (Barbara Jean) of West Jefferson; and her grandsons, Seth Scott and Sid Scott. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
