He was predeceased by: his parents, William Witherspoon and Louise Howell Witherspoon; his sister Lorrie Witherspoon Roten; and his brothers-in-law, Darrell Hoosier, Dennis Arnold and Lewis Shepherd.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Leona Witherspoon; his daughter Amber Murphy (T. J.) of Lansing; his grandchildren, Talon Jessie Murphy and Piper Murphy; his sisters, Sandy Witherspoon and Kathy Shepherd; his siblings-in-law, Scott Roten and Maxine Arnold; and his nieces and nephews, Matt Shepherd, Andrew Shepherd, Autumn Chamberlain, Taryn Boston, Cory Roten and Tyler Roten.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ashelawn Memorial Chapel (3470 U. S. Hwy 221 N, Jefferson, NC 28640). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
