She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Park and Dora Maude Marsh Burkett; her husband Joseph Curtis Gentry (Joe) of Joe's Butcher Shop; and her sister Gladys Burkett Shatley. She is survived by: her children, Curtis Gentry (Donna) of West Jefferson, Shaye Gentry (Amy) of Jefferson, Robin Williams (Roger) of Thomasville and Laurencene Gentry of Wilkesboro; her brother Bill Burkett (Jean) of Jefferson; her grandchildren, Jamie Barker and Justin Mathis; and her great grandchildren, Lukas Gentry, Leah Gentry, Kelbie Gentry and Natalie Mathis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Bristol Baptist Church (1776 Old Hwy 16, Jefferson, NC 28640). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
