He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Armfield McNeely (Betty); and his sons, Gene McNeely, Jr. of Eclectic, AL, David McNeely (Judith) of Tallahassee, FL, Paul McNeely (Shawn) of Montgomery, AL, Michael McNeely (Brenda) of Mooresville, NC and Kevin McNeely (Jill) of Salisbury, NC..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Frank Presbyterian Church.
