He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Turner and Ola Turner; his grandson Hunter Groce; his son-in-law Steve Pardue; and his siblings, Harold Turner and Jerrie Bennett.

He is survived by : his wife Judy Lyles Turner; his daughters, Sherry T. Waddell (Myron) of Elkin and Kristy T. Pardue of Jonesville; his grandchildren, Nathan Gilliam of Jonesville, Lindsay Evans (Troy) of Bolivia, NC, Matthew Waddell of Fort Cavazos, TX and Leah Waddell of Elkin; his great grandchildren, Jase, Kanon Gilliam of Jonesville and Hunter Evans of Bolivia, NC; and his siblings, Mildred Campbell of Rural Hall, Jack Turner of Advance and Oleen Bodenhamer of Rural Hall. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
