He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. D. A. Clanton and Crete Sims Clanton. He is survived by: his wife Linda Clanton; his daughter Kelly (Tony Hinson) of Concord; his stepdaughters, Amy Barker Bowlin (Rodney) and Tracy Barker; and his fiancé Dave Vance.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Whitley's Funeral Home (1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Concord.
