She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Edwin Jefferson Prather and Lola Mae Black Prather; her son Michael Alexander Torrence; and her husband Julius Preston Torrence Sr. (Jay). She is survived by: her sons, Julius Preston Torrence Jr. (Jan), Eli Torrence, Robin Torrence (Cheryl) and Sean Torrence. She is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
