He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Lee Gibson and Ruby Gibson (Gent); and his sisters, Alma Gibson, Lisa Gibson, Etta Bell Banks and Montrose Allison.
He is survived by: his wife Fern Gibson of Kannapolis; and his siblings, Frances Everette (Milton) of Kannapolis, Camellia Watson of Kannapolis, Herman Gibson of Kannapolis, Eric Gibson of Shelby and Howard Mack (Wilhelmina) of Williamsburg, VA. He is also survived by two daughters and four grandchildren.
