He was predeceased by: his parents, Nash Frye and Elizabeth Frye; his wife Mary Alice Clontz Frye; his son Rev. Michael Frye; and his siblings, Ruth Smith, Dewey, Craig and Linn.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Frye (Debbie) of Concord, David Frye (Susan) of Oxford, Joe Frye (Carolyn) of Mint Hill and Karen F. Overcash (Mike) of Kannapolis; his daughter-in-law Judy Sloop Frye of Waxhaw; and his sister-in-law Faynell Frye of Kannapolis. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
