She was predeceased by: her parents, John C. Whitehurst and Doris Morgan Whitehurst; her husband Walter G. Vann; and her nephew Steven Williams. She is survived by: her siblings, Ada Whitehurst Sanford of Charlotte and Cecil Whitehurst (Vivian) of Suffolk, Virginia; her nieces, Angela Williams and Beth Wiley; her nephew Danny Williams; and her daughters, Anita Messner (Rob) of Charleston, Shirley McLeod (Howard) of Largo, Florida and Jennifer Harrell of Hampton, Virginia.. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who are part of her family.
