It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Max Filmore Chandler of Kannapolis, North Carolina, who passed away on February 16, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmar F. Chandler and Helen Sherrill Chandler; his wife Peggy Black Chandler; and his sister Frankie Brinkley. He is survived by: his children, Scott F. Chandler (Kelly) of Kannapolis and Lynn C. Bertino (Rob) of Raleigh; his sisters, Doris Craven of Asheboro, Shirley Gray (Earl) of Kannapolis and Nancye Moon (Jimmy) of Kannapolis; his grandsons, Max F. Chandler, II and Johnny Hodge; and his great grandchild Noah Hayes Chandler.
