She was predeceased by: her parents, Zellie L. Black and Inez Little Black; her husband Bobby Lee Smith; her brother Eddie Black; and her son Scottie Nicholson.

She is survived by: her daughter Sebrina Britt (Robert) of Oriental, NC; her grandchildren, Leslie Nicholson, Cody Britt (Kristin) and Jake Britt (Sarah); her great grandchild Eli Ali; and her sister Joann Black Shaw of Kannapolis.
