She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey O'Neal Steele and Ruby Virginia Hedrick Steele; her husband Grady R. Payne; and her siblings, Donald "D. R." Ray Steele, Barbara "Bobbie" Goodnight and Michael "Mike" D. Steele.
She is survived by: her son Keith L. Payne (Lori) of Kannapolis, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
