He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Harper Harper and Mary Anthony Harper. He is survived by: his daughter Melissa H. Shelley of Charlotte, NC; and his granddaughter Maiya Shelley of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by cousins, other relatives, and friends.
