He is survived by: his sons, David Joshua Starnes (Heather) of China Grove and Robert Bryant Starnes of Salisbury; his brother Ric Starnes of Mount Pleasant; and his grandchildren, Mallory Starnes, J. J. Starnes, Michael Starnes, Gabriel Starnes and Caroline Starnes.
