She was predeceased by: her parents, John Carr, Sr. and Esther Grisson Carr; her husband Preston Covington; her daughter Tammy Edwards Bost; and her siblings, Elizabeth C. Little, John Carr, Jr., Charles Carr "Buddy" and Henry Carr.
She is survived by: her son Carlton Edwards; her sisters, Esther Carr Boger (Eddie) of Concord, NC, Florence C. Stywall of Concord, NC, Mary C. Love (Allen) of Concord, NC and Carolyn C. Braxton (Theodore) of Concord, NC; and her stepson Preston Covington of Wingate, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
