It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Safrit Russell of Kannapolis, North Carolina, who passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer S. Safrit and Roxie Lee Christy Safrit; and her husband Jim Russell. She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Russell (Connie), John Russell (Theresa) and Jane Christy Russell; her grandchildren, Kristen and Todd; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Raegan and Hayleigh; and her sister-in-law Lowder.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Memorial United Methodist Church in Kannapolis, NC.
