She was predeceased by: her parents, Fannie Mae and Thomas Alphonzo Evans; and her husband James Leon Atkinson. She is survived by: her sons, Mike Atkinson (Robbin) and Tommy Atkinson (Lisa); her granddaughters, Heather Smith (Travis), Amanda Garner (Justin), Ashley Ray (Hunter) and Emily Pulley; and her great grandchildren, Curtis Evan, Arley, Adrianna Smith, Cameron, Wyatt Garner and Willard Ray.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Kenly Funeral & Cremation Service (103 E 2nd St, Kenly, NC 27542). A graveside service was held on Sunday, May 18th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Evans Family Cemetery (3480 NC-222, Kenly, NC 27542).
