She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Pate and Piercy Lancaster Pate; her husband Maylon Arthur Kirby, Sr.; and her siblings, Lloyd Pate, Bruton Pate, Pete Pate, Martha Pate Weaver, Eva Pate Wooten and Irene Pate Stafford.
She is survived by: her children, Maylon "Art" Kirby, Jr. (Charity Overbey Kirby), Stephen Bryon Overbey, Madison Bryce Overbey of Trent Woods and Myra Jean Kirby Kennedy (David) of Pinehurst; her grandchildren, Maylon Arthur "Trey" Kirby, III, Frederick Tyler Kirby, Victoria Pate Kirby, Jason Kennedy and Matthew Kennedy; and her brother John Pate. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
