He was predeceased by: his son Nathan C. Hales, Jr.; and his siblings, John Hales (Jabo), Eunice Nichols (Monk), Pearl Holland, Sam Hales, Hattie Edgerton and Grace Morris.
He is survived by: his wife Mildred Hales; his granddaughter Allison Hales D'Aprile (Zach D'Aprile); and his sister Pauline Bridgers. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kenly Missionary Baptist Church (1730 NC-222, Kenly, NC 27542). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Kenly Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Kenly Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 1730 NC-222, Kenly, NC 27542.
