He is survived by : his son Johnny Barbee (Pam); his stepdaughter Roxann Johnson (James); his grandchildren, Taylor Harper (Brandon), Jonathan Barbee, Bert Johnson (Wendy), Roger Johnson, Christopher Johnson (Allison), Jacob Lawhon, Jordan Moody (Daniel) and Aiden Jernigan; and his great grandchildren, Hailey Whitley, Braden Johnson, Ava Johnson, Cash Johnson, Brooklynn Johnson, Aiden Johnson, Addie Johnson, Charlee Johnson and Preston Evans.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Kenly Cemetery (608 W 2nd St, Kenly, NC 27542).
