He is survived by: his close friend Teresa Pate of Micro; his sister Eva Aycock of Lucama; his sons, Walter Lee Powell Jr. (Wendi) of Lucama and Robert Stroud Powell (Denise) of Kenly; the mother of his children Audrey Stroud Powell of Pink Hill; his grandchildren, Jodi Cobb (Brentley) of Lucama, Walter Lee Powell III (Colleen) of Clayton, Jami Jones (Clay) of Lucama, Chancey Larsen (Dylan) of Oregon and Ezekiel Powell of Kenly; his great grandchildren, Story Cobb of Lucama, Atlas Cobb of Lucama, Sky Jones of Lucama, Axel Jones of Lucama, Walter Lee Powell IV of Clayton and Vallie Larsen of Oregon; and his nieces, Angela Capps of Lucama, Crystal Jackson of Kenly and Debbie Aycock of Lucama.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kenly Funeral & Cremation Service (103 E 2nd St, Kenly, NC 27542). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 5:00 PM at the The Farm (215 Batten Rd, Selma, NC 27576).
