She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilburn Earl and Bessie Moore McCormick; and her husband Marshall Gordon Cheek. She is survived by: her son Marc; her daughter-in-law Michele of Raleigh; her granddaughter Mallory of Wilmington; her daughter Amy; her grandchildren, Thomas and Emma of Kernersville; her sisters, Edith Lewis (S. C.), Alice Gatewood of Chapin, S. C. and Beth Stone; her siblings' children, Jessie Stone of Columbia, SC and Kiah Stone (S. C.); and her sisters-in-law, Edna Stock of McColl, S. C. and Elaine Hudson of Brazoria, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
