She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Eskew Tyson and Ernest Carlock; her husband Merle Wylie; and her siblings, Butch Bargainer and Mary Halfacre.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Smith and Olufemi Elom; her stepdaughter Tonya Wylie; her grandchildren, Michael II, Sean and Johan; her great grandchild Nadiya; and her sisters, Ernestine Carlock and Crystal Little. She is also survived by loving family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101).
