She was predeceased by: her parents, William Clarence Emerson and Effie Pool Emerson; her husband James William Carlin, Jr.; her son William "Al" Carlin; her grandson Brandon Bodsford; and her brother William Preston Emerson.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Carlin (Cindy) of King, NC and Jane Bodsford (Keith) of Yadkinville, NC; and her grandchildren, Erin Shore (Matt) and Drew Carlin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
