He was predeceased by: his parents, William Michael Wells and Sue Ellen Toney Wells; his siblings, Bill Wells, Bethel Wells, Bob Wells, Nellie Godfrey, Shirley Holshouser, Mary Wood and Betty Johnson; and his daughter Joy Hollifield.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his brother Toney Wells (Martha Lou); his daughter Cindi Welch (Charles); his grandchildren, Christen Blanton (Steven), Michael Mendoza and Laura Gibson (Chase); his great grandchildren, Eli, Emory Blanton, Parke and Roper Gibson; his close friends, Steve and Jessica Lovelace (Sparkle); Willow. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Stained Glass Room of First Baptist Church (605 W King St, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (605 W King St, Kings Mountain, NC 28086).
