He was predeceased by: his uncle Mark Short. He is survived by: his parents, Loyd Christopher Short and Virginia Lynn Short; his children, Jordan Short (Morgan), Jeremy Short (Abbe) and Cecilia Short (Gage Whitaker); his siblings, Casey Short (Victoria) and Stephanie Broome; and his grandsons, Tony and Isaac Short.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made on the social media fundraising account to help with funeral expenses.
