With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of George Willis Melton of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 26, 2025 at the age of 100. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Frank and Lena Harvey Melton; his wife Mary; his children, Brenda and David; and his grandchildren, Jeff Melton and Sandy Surber.
He is survived by: his children, John Melton and Deborah Kates; and his grandchildren, Sharon (Brent), Scott (Stacey), Brad (Holly), Kevin (Erika), Abbey, Brenn (Nikki) and Adam (Katie).
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harris Funeral Home (108 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bethlehem Baptist Church (1017 Bethlehem Rd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086).
