He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence William Roper and Lucille Bonnie Chastain Roper; and his brothers, Charles Roper and Cecil Roper. He is survived by: his sons, Harold "Billy" Roper, Jr. (Cindy), Donald "Don" Roper (Julie), Benjamin "Ben" Roper (Dana), Adam Roper (Olivia) and Jason Greene (Paige); his grandchildren, Donald Jr. (Laura), Kaleb, Reagan (Austin), Austin (Elizabeth), Addison and Chandler (Emily); his great grandchild Charlotte; and his nephew Brian Roper.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery (3240 Tryon Courthouse Rd, Cherryville, NC 28021).
