He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Russ and Reba Turner Russ; his son-in-law Robbie Cannon; and his siblings, Sybil MacArthur and C. R. Russ.
He is survived by: his wife Sandy Whetstine Russ; his daughter Melanie Cannon of Charlotte, NC.; his grandchildren, Alex Cannon (Sydney) of Winston-Salem, NC and Madeline Cannon of Charlotte, NC.; his great grandchild Isabelle Cannon; and his sibling's children, Kevin Whetstine of Denver, NC, Noel MacArthur, Tommy MacArthur and Dana Russ.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Kings Mountain Baptist Church (101 W Mountain St, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
