He was predeceased by: his parents, Noah Cecil Ramey and Ann Bostic Whitesides; and his brother Marion Ramey. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Williams Ramey; his daughter Paula Wilkes; his pets, Monkey Jack Ramey and Raylan Givens Ramey; his siblings, Norman Ramey (Chae), Tim Ramey, Buddy Ramey, Ben Bostic and Joann Perry (Burgess); and his grandsons, Austin Wilkes and Jonah Wilkes. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations be made to the Heart Foundation, as this cause held a special place in Gene's heart.
