He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Blake and Verda Mae Bryan (Wade). He is survived by: his significant other Mable "Sis" Cauley Jones; his children, Debra Parrish (Darrell), James "Jay" Bryan (Jessica) and Danielle "Danni" Bryan-Khalas (Dhruv); his grandchildren, Kelsey Novicki, Cameron Parrish, Taylor Sholar, Avery Bryan, Jackson Parrish, Maegan Parrish, Travis Bryan and Payton Bryan; and his great grandchildren, Penelope "Nellie" Novicki, Reed Sholar, Dawson Sholar and Eli Novicki.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NC Veterans Home, 2150 Hull Road, Kinston, NC 28504.
