Arthur Hope Shackelford Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Arthur Hope Shackelford of Kinston, North Carolina, who passed away on October 2, 2022 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John Arthur and Irma Taylor Shackelford; his wife Margot Gladding Shackelford; and his brother Ossie Taylor Shackelford. He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Lee Shackelford Smoot (Greg) of Longmont and Colo; his granddaughter Madeline Hope Smoot of St. Paul, Minn.; his daughter Sarah Hope Shackelford Smith (Matt); his granddaughters, Emily Margot Smith, Olivia Taylor Smith and Sophie Elizabeth Smith of Buffalo, N. Y.; his daughter Johanna Gladding Shackelford Owens (Tripp); his grandchildren, Simon Lloyd Owens and Sadie Worrell Owens of Tarboro, N. C; his niece June Shackelford Hiott of Pittsburg, Penn.; and his nephew Douglas Alan Shackelford (Ann) of Chapel Hill.
